A Miamisburg man died following a crash Friday night that injured another person in Centerville.

Mark E. Pike Jr., 64, was identified Monday as the crash victim by Montgomery County Coroner Dr. Kent Harshbarger.

Crews responded to a two-vehicle crash around 8:15 p.m. on West Social Road between Yankee Trace Drive and Yankee Street, according to the Centerville Police Department.

“During the initial investigation, officers determined that a Ford pickup truck had been driving east bound on West Social Row Road, crossed over the raised median that separates the east and westbound lanes, drove eastbound onto the westbound lanes of West Social row Road, and collided head-on with a Ford sedan,” a release from Centerville police officer Keith Wallace, the department’s public information officer.

The driver of the Ford F-250, 45-year-old Jonathan Michael Elkins of Hillsboro, was taken to Kettering Health Washington Twp. for treatment of minor injuries, according to a crash report.

Pike, who was driving a 2017 Ford Fusion, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The Centerville Police Department is asking any witnesses who have not yet done so to reach out to detective Sgt. Josh Ratliff at jratliff@centervilleohio.gov or 937-433-7661.
