Crews called to industrial fire in Kettering; smoke seen in area

Smoke could be seen this evening coming from an industrial fire in Kettering.

Crews were dispatched at 5 p.m. to 4991 Hempstead Station Drive — occupied by Consolidated Vehicle Converters — south of David Road, according to the Kettering Police Department.

The business specializes in remanufacturing sealed torque converters for the automotive industry, according to its website.

No injuries were reported, dispatchers said, and fire crews had cleared the scene by 9 p.m. The building is just down the street from Kettering’s Fire Department headquarters.

It was not yet clear what led to the fire.
