“Our goal is the construction of a new office building and warehouse to allow us the space to hire new employees to support the historical growth trends of 30% for the past 10 years,” Allen Mescher, A&M’s president, said in a Dayton Development Coalition release.
JobsOhio supported the project with a $40,000 economic development grant. The project will retain six jobs.
Meanwhile, JobsOhio, the state’s private economic development arm, has supported several local business expansions in recent weeks.
In Preble County, food and agriculture business Royal Canin U.S.A., expects to create 224 jobs at an annual payroll of nearly $11.5 million, with 69 current jobs protected, according to JobsOhio’s latest executed grants and loans report, this one for October 2021. (Companies or municipalities may have announced these projects before the October JobsOhio report was released.)
Lewisburg’s Royal Canin, a producer of pet food, received a $3.1 million economic development grant and a $400,000 workforce grant, JobsOhio data shows.
JobsOhio lists a fixed asset investment of nearly $337 million for Royal Canin, which was set to break ground this spring for a new factory.

Aerospace and aviation manufacturer Starwin Industries, of Kettering, received a $550,000 economic development grant, with 95 new jobs expected and a new annual payroll of nearly $6.7 million.
Starwin’s plans include 42 jobs retained and a fixed asset investment of $9,832,500.
In Dayton, IT firm DeFries-Copp LLC received a $50,000 inclusion grant for a project that’s expected to create a dozen jobs while protecting 23 current jobs.
Also in Montgomery County, manufacturer Adaptive Development Corp. received a $40,000 inclusion grant. Adaptive’s plans include three new jobs, with 11 jobs retained.
In Middletown, auto industry manufacturer Century Mold Co. looks to create 70 new jobs, at a $3.7 million payroll, with 54 current jobs retained. That company received a $200,000 economic development grant.
Manufacturer O’Reilly Precision Products wants to create 10 jobs in Shelby County, with 34 current jobs retained. The company received a $40,000 workforce grant.
