The city said that the event provides IRS-trained volunteers to help taxpayers with an annual income below $67,000 that are eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit and Child Tax Credits.
The EITC is available based on the number of children in your family and whether you are filing for yourself or are married and filing jointly.
- Up to $7,830 for families with three or more qualifying children, earned income and adjusted gross income must be less than $59,889, or $66,819 if married and filing jointly
- Up to $6,960 for families with two qualifying children, earned income and adjusted gross income must be less than $55,768, or $62,688 if married and filing jointly
- Up to $4,213 for families with one qualifying child, earned income and adjusted gross income must be less than $49,084, or $56,004 if married and filing jointly
- Up to $632 for families with no qualifying children, earned income and adjusted gross income must be less than $18,591, or $25,511 if married and filing jointly
Taxpayers should bring a photo and all applicable W-2 forms, and are encouraged to make appointments by calling 937-913-2000.
The event is meant to help area taxpayers take advantage of the two anti-poverty tax credits, and is presented by KeyBank in cooperation with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Coalition and Miami Valley Urban League.
