A 22-year-old Dayton man who reportedly recorded sex acts with a 15-year-old girl and then threatened her pleaded guilty in connection to the case.

Steven McArthur Moreland Jr. pleaded guilty to two counts each of pandering sexual oriented material involving a minor and unlawful sexual conduct with a minor on Thursday, according to Montgomery County Common Pleas Court records.

Five counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and one count of aggravated menacing were dismissed.

He’s scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 29.

The investigation began last July after the teen reported she had sex with Moreland multiple times and he threatened to release videos of it and kill her, according to Dayton Municipal Court records.

“She’s seen him with a small black and silver handgun,” an affidavit read. “He’s played with that gun while being drunk.”

A search warrant was served at his residence and investigators recovered Moreland’s cellphone. There were reportedly two videos downloaded from the phone that showed sexual content.

The teen identified herself in the two videos, according to court documents.
