The Dayton Police Department announced the death of a retire police K9 who spent five years with the department.

K9 Baron served from Oct. 22, 2012, to Oct. 31, 2017.

“Baron will be greatly missed, not only by Sgt. Trupp but all of us here at the Dayton Police Department,” read a statement posted to Twitter.
