‘I’m just grateful everybody is OK.’: Car crashes through Harrison Twp. home

Driver suffers minor injuries; no one inside the home harmed

The owner of a Harrison Twp. that a car drove through after missing a turn Monday morning said she’s just grateful everyone is OK, including her two children.

“Everything else can be replaced, but my kids will never be replaced,” said Ashley Dale. “So I’m just still grateful to still have them.”

The driver was taken to Grandview Medical Center with minor injuries, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. No other injuries were reported.

The crash took place around 4:20 a.m., when a Chevrolet Monte Carlo crashed into a home in the 4000 block of Fleetwood drive.

The car went through a neighbor’s yard before hitting the south side of the home, going through two bedrooms and the family room before coming to a stop on the back porch, the sheriff’s office reported.

Dale said she and her husband woke up to a “big crash.”

Her son was sleeping in their room, so Dale got up to find her daughter.

“She was on the back porch,” she said. “Her bed had been moved to the back porch.”

Her son’s bed, which was on the other side of the wall the daughter’s bed was against, was also on the porch.

“We’re just so grateful that he had woken up because it would’ve just taken out my son and I would’ve died, literally,” Dale said.

According to a release from the sheriff’s office, the suspect was also found to be intoxicated.

The sheriff’s office is continuing to investigate the crash, and no charges had been filed as of Monday morning. We will update this story as more information is available.
