DPS free summer food program starts this week

A free summer meal program offered through a partnership between Dayton Public Schools and the Ohio Department of Education begins this week.

Children 18 and younger are eligible to receive free breakfast, lunch and a snack at various churches, summer camps and schools holding summer programs. Food also will be available for pickup in several locations throughout the community, the district announced.

The program begins Tuesday and runs through Aug. 6.
