A 21-year-old Fairborn man was indicted Monday on multiple counts of rape in connection to an April sexual assault case in Dayton.

Michael Wayane Wroten is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court for four counts of rape, one count of kidnapping and a misdemeanor assault charge.

Dayton police arrested Wroten on June 3 at his home in Fairborn, Montgomery County Jail records show.

Charges were filed against him earlier that day in Dayton Municipal Court in connection to a sexual assault reported to have happened April 15 in the city, records show.

The assault took place at the victim’s home. Wroten was in the victim’s bedroom watching Netflix when the victim came in to go to bed.

He reportedly began to touch her and moved her onto her back. When she tried to push him off, Wroten pinned down her arms and assaulted her, according to a Dayton Municipal Court affidavit.

“[The victim] told Wroten to get off her, but he covered her mouth with his one free hand,” court documents read. “Wroten would not let [the victim] leave the bedroom.”

He reportedly sexually assaulted her four times throughout the night and early morning.

Wroten denied any sexual allegations, according to court documents. His DNA matched a sample taken during an examination of the victim.

Wroten remains held in the Montgomery County Jail.
