Miami County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Randy Slusher said that the crash was still under investigation, but early investigation found that at around 4:09 p.m. an 85-year-old man, later identified as Davis, was riding on a motorcycle going south on South Shiloh Road when he ran the stop sign at Frederick Garland Road.
He was hit by a gray Chrysler sedan driving east on Frederick Garland Road, Slusher said.
Davis was pronounced dead at the scene, the lieutenant said, and the driver of the car was taken to a local hospital with possible minor injuries.
The sheriff’s office doesn’t believe that alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash, Slusher said.
