First winter storm of 2025: How much snow did you get?

More than 10 inches of snow reported in some southwest Ohio communities.

The first winter storm of 2025 came with heavy snowfall, resulting in multiple snow emergencies, closures and weather advisories in southwest Ohio.

By early Monday afternoon, Butler, Montgomery and Warren counties had communities reporting at least 9 inches of snow, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

Warren County has some of the highest snow totals in the region, with Landen reporting 11 inches of snowfall and South Lebanon reporting 10 inches.

Dayton tied its snowfall record for Jan. 5 on Sunday. The record was set in 1903 with 2.7 inches. As of 7 a.m. Monday, Dayton had 6.5 inches of snowfall, according to the NWS.

As of 1 p.m. Monday, the Dayton International Airport has received 6.7 inches of snow. It’s among some of the most snowfall reported in a two-day period at the airport in the last 10 years.

In 2022, the airport received 7.5 inches of snow on Feb. 3-4 and 6.8 inches on Feb.15-16, 2021, according to the NWS.
