Leslie Ballard said she got in line around 9 a.m. and estimated there were hundreds of people ahead of her.
“It’s been a lot of people out here,” she said.
Ballard praised the event and said it was wonderful.
“It’s a terrific thing,” she said. “It’s a blessing.”
The free distribution included fresh produce and other products.

“These distributions reflect our unwavering commitment to serving the community and providing nourishment, hope and dignity to those facing difficult times,” said Michelle L. Riley, CEO of The Foodbank. “A special thanks to the University of Dayton and CareSource for making this possible.”
CareSource sponsored the event and had representatives help pass out the food. Premier Health was onsite offering free and optional biometric readings.
The Foodbank also has drive-thru distributions at it 56 Armor Place in Dayton on Wednesdays from 9 to 11 a.m. Clients should bring a photo ID, proof of residency or another form of identification (such as a piece of mail with your name and address) to assist with signing in.
