Centerville police are asking for the public’s help locating a missing man who was last seen Wednesday morning.

Akil Hughes, 21, was last seen around 10 a.m. when he left his Penridge Drive residence to take a walk. On Saturday, police said that they are asking the public in the area of Wilmington Pike and Station Road to review any available video from Wednesday between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m.

His last known contact was a text message sent around 10:56 a.m. Wednesday, according to police. He has not been in touch with family, friends or his employer since.

Police said they have received citizens’ tips and have tracked him to the area of Wilmington Pike and Station Road and are trying to determine which direction he may have gone from there.

Hughes stands 5 feet, 11 inches and weighs about 150 pounds. A clothing description was not available.
