Multiple 911 callers reported the crash that happened shortly before 3 p.m. involving a vehicle that rolled onto its top, according to Moraine police dispatchers.
A 1998 Buick LeSabre was traveling south on the highway in the left lane when it crossed over the lane markings and hit the front wheel of a 2016 Freightliner Cascadia, according to a Moraine Police Division crash report.
The car swerved to the left and hit the cement median, causing the car to roll onto its top and slide across the southbound lanes and into the gore — the land between the highway and exit ramp — to state Route 741.
The crash closed I-75 South at U.S. 35 while crews investigated.
By 4 p.m. southbound traffic was backed up through downtown Dayton, and the Ohio Department of Transportation’s OHGO map indicated an almost hourlong travel delay.
