A large transformer will move through Warren County this weekend.

The 306-foot super load will be escorted Sunday by Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers from Trader’s World on state Route 63 in Monroe to a power substation on Butterworth Road.

Motorists could see long delays along the route of the moving roadblock, and there is no estimate for how long the trip will take to move the load, which is 16 feet, 6 inches wide; 16 feet, 2 inches tall and weighs 752,216 pounds, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation.

The convoy will leave Trader’s World around 7:30 a.m. Sunday, head east on Route 63 to state Route 741 before turning south toward Interstate 71. It then will travel north on I-71, exit to state Route 48, go south on state Route 48 to Foster-Maineville Road, west onto Sibcy Road and finally take Sibcy Road to Butterworth Road, where it will reach its destination.

ODOT and the Warren County Engineer’s Office planned the route to ensure roads and bridges are able to handle the size and weight of the truck and its cargo.

ODOT added that state and federal regulations forbid super loads like this to move at night.
