A 66-year-old Piqua woman was seriously injured Wednesday morning in a three-vehicle crash that temporarily closed Interstate 75 South.

Donnie Wilson, 31, of Dayton drove a 2006 Ford Focus onto the right berm around 6:40 a.m. at the 46 mile marker in an attempt to pass a semi. Instead, he struck a broken down 2017 Chevrolet Impala that was in the right berm, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Dayton Post.

The impact forced the Chevy to hit the right side of the semi truck, the patrol post said.

Susan Henne, the driver of the Chevy, was taken to Kettering Health Main Campus with serious injuries. Wilson was taken to Kettering Health Miamisburg, formerly Sycamore Medical Center, with injuries that were not life-threatening. The truck driver, 65-year-old Paul Loschi of Englewood, was not hurt, troopers said.

Miami Valley Fire/EMS and Miami Twp. and West Carrollton police assisted troopers at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
