A man whose body was found in a wooded area in Harrison Twp. earlier this week has been identified.

Shannon D. Johnson, 43, was found in the 2200 block on Onaota Avenue near Montevideo Drive Sunday morning.

His cause and manner of death have not been determined.

Around 8:32 a.m., Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the area after a man said a woman flagged him down and said her parents were being held hostage in the woods, according to dispatch records.

The man noted the woman was talking to herself and may have mental health issues.

While on the scene, deputies located Johnson’s body. Due to the state of decomposition, deputies must wait for the coroner’s report for the cause of death, according to the sheriff’s office.

It’s not clear how long Johnson’s body was in the woods or if foul play was involved.
