Man arrested after domestic issue results in brief chase, crash in Huber Heights

Police arrested a man Thursday morning after he reportedly led officers on a brief chase while armed with a gun in Huber Heights.

The man had minor injuries and was taken to the hospital before being booked into the Montgomery County Jail, according to Huber Heights police.

Around 8:09 a.m., officers responded to the 6100 block of Cardiff Place for a domestic dispute.

While police were on their way, a woman reported the man had left in a Chevrolet Silverado and was armed with a firearm, according to police.

Officers found the suspect near Tomberg and Fishburg roads. The man failed to stop for officers, resulting in brief pursuit.

The man lost control of the truck and hit a tree on Fishburg and Endicott roads near Canal Lock Park. Officers chased him on foot and arrested him for failure to comply.

More charges are possible, according to police.

The incident caused multiple police cruisers to respond to Fishburg Road. A Dayton police canine unit was also on the scene.

The incident remains under investigation.
