One man is in jail after a fight on New Year’s Day in Dayton involving a knife and a hammer.

Keyaudi Wilcoxson, 30, was booked at 4:45 p.m. into the Montgomery County Jail on suspicion of felonious assault and aggravated menacing, a misdemeanor.

Police were called earlier in the afternoon to the 1000 block of South Smithville Road on a report that two men were arguing and that one man had a knife and another had a hammer.

A 911 caller reported that the man with the knife stabbed the other man and then threw the knife on the roof. However, no one was stabbed, according to the Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Center.

It is not clear whether the other man was taken to a hospital or faces charges in the fight.
