Northmont students at the Miami Valley Career and Technology Center were not dismissed early. CTC buses will run as normal, according to the district.
While power has been restored to most customers by noon, AES Ohio was reporting 1,868 without service just before 10:30 a.m.
Montgomery County customers accounted for 1,776 outages, with the majority reported outside of Clayton near Brookville.
As of 12:09 p.m. service has been restored to most customers, with 143 total still without power. Eighty-nine of those outages are in Montgomery County.
It’s not clear what is causing the outages. However, widespread rain and thunderstorms are forecasted for the region throughout the day, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.
