Service restored after thousands without power in Montgomery County

Power has been restored to thousands of AES Ohio customers after an outage was reported Wednesday morning.

The company reported 6,750 total outages as of 9:54 a.m. Montgomery County accounted for 6,734 of those outages, including approximately 6,700 customers in the Centerville and Springboro area.

As of 11:39 a.m., there were 17 AES Ohio customers without service.

“Thank you to our crews for restoring power for our customers this morning in the extended Centerville-Springboro areas,” the comapny posted on X, formerly known as Twitter. “The outage cause was due to a large bird in our Yankee Street substation.”
