A 61-year-old Miamisburg motorcyclist died Wednesday afternoon following a collision with a bucket truck in Harrison Twp.

Scott Dodds was identified Thursday by Montgomery County Coroner Dr. Kent Harshbarger as the motorcyclist pronounced dead at the scene of the crash in the 3400 block of Needmore Road.

Emergency crews were dispatched to the crash around 4:15 p.m., according to the Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Center.

A 911 caller said that there was a bad crash involving a motorcycle, saying, “You’re going to need paramedics ASAP, I think there’s someone dead on the road.”

The driver of a Ford F750 bucket truck tried to turn left onto Needmore Road from the City Electric Supply lot when it pulled out in front of Dodds, who was traveling east on Needmore Road, according to a preliminary investigation from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

The two people who were in the truck were uninjured, the sheriff’s office said.

The crash remains under investigation.
