Ohio State Highway Patrol spokesman Sgt. Tyler Ross confirmed there were 15 crashes, some involving commercial vehicles, in that stretch of highway in Preble County.
A “handful” of people were taken to local hospitals, but Ross said that none suffered serious or life-threatening injuries.
The crashes were believed to be weather-related, Ross said. Snow drifts and snow blowing across the highway caused conditions to worsen after the road was treated.
The earliest crash reported occurred at 10:53 a.m., and the last was reported at 1:05 p.m., dispatchers said.
