One person was seriously injured in crash Tuesday morning that “completely totaled” four vehicles and closed Woodman Drive in Riverside.

The crash was reported at 8:44 a.m. in the 200 block of Woodman Drive. The crash initially was reported as a four-vehicle crash, but it appears a fifth vehicle may have been involved and fled the scene, said Riverside Sgt. David Schmidt.

Three medics responded, according to the Huber Heights Communication Center, which dispatches for Riverside. One person is in life-threatening condition, Schmidt said.

One of the vehicles had a car seat inside, but there were no children in any of the vehicles at the time of the crash.

The four vehicles that were still on Woodman Drive were “completely totaled,” Schmidt said.

The road was closed in the area as investigators reconstructed the crash.

Schmidt said Woodman Drive and Airway Road can be a problem area for crashes.

“Right in front of the business we do get a couple of assured clear distance ahead crashes, but we don’t normally have anything like this,” he said.
