One person is dead and another person was flown by medical helicopter after Friday evening a motorcycle crash in Champaign County.

A 2004 Harley Davidson motorcycle, driven by James Barker, 36, of St. Paris, was traveling south on state Route 235 near state Route 29 with a passenger, Tiffany Grim. Just before 7 p.m. Friday, Barker apparently lost control of the motorcycle and traveled left of the center line, hitting a 1999 Toyota Camry driven by Brittany Young, 37, of Sidney, according to a release from the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office.

Barker and Grim were ejected from the motorcycle. Grim was pronounced dead at the scene, deputies said. Barker was flown by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, where his condition was not known.

Young was not injured in the crash.

The Champaign County Sheriff’s Office, CareFlight, and Rosewood and St. Paris EMS responded to the crash, which deputies said is still under investigation.
