1 arrested for OVI during sobriety checkpoint in Moraine

One person was arrested for OVI during an OVI checkpoint and saturation patrols in Moraine Thursday night.

The checkpoint was scheduled from 7 to 9 p.m. on state Route 741. The Ohio State Highway Patrol, Moraine Police Division and Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office operated the checkpoint.

Crews checked 291 vehicles during the checkpoint. Nine people were cited for license violations one citation was issued for having an open container of alcohol in a vehicle, according to OSHP.

There were eight traffic stops conducted during the saturation patrols. No arrests were made.

So far this year, there have been 320 OVI-related crashes in Montgomery County, including 19 fatalities, according to the highway patrol.
