14 cited for no driver’s license but no OVI arrests during Trotwood checkpoints

Fourteen citations issued during two sobriety checkpoints conducted Friday night in Trotwood, but no OVI arrests.

The first OVI checkpoint was from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at 5120 Salem Ave. There were 254 vehicles that went through the checkpoint, with 24 diverted for checks, according to the Trotwood Police Department.

Six citations were issued for no driver’s license, and an additional citation for no driver’s license was issued as a result of surrounding patrols by Trotwood police and Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Dayton Post.

One citation was issued for no seat belt during the first checkpoint, police said.

The second checkpoint was from 9 to 11 p.m. at 4825 Salem Ave., which had 233 vehicles go through with 34 diverted for checks.

Seven citations for issued for no driver’s license and there was one arrest on misdemeanor charges.

The Trotwood Police Department, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and Montgomery County Combined Agency OVI Task Force conducted the checkpoint.
