The shooting was reported at 1:28 a.m. at 443 Patterson Road.
When police arrived they found the shooting victim, later identified as Tigner, who was transported to the hospital.
He succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, said Dayton police Lt. Steven Bauer.
Dayton Police Department’s homicide unit is investigating the shooting.
A 911 caller told dispatchers he went outside after hearing a popping sound and saw a man laying in the road, according to Montgomery County Regional Dispatch records.
“He’s laying on the ground now holding his stomach,” the caller said.
He added that the man was breathing and appeared to be shot in his stomach or chest.
