Victory Oak Knoll, a grove of 180 oak trees, was planted in 1921 to commemorate local World War I veterans. The site, within Dayton’s Community Golf Course, is cared for by Kettering Boy Scout Troop 193. Invasive honeysuckle has taken over the grove of trees and the scout troop is raising funds to rent the machinery needed to remove the plant growth. LISA POWELL / STAFF
