Man fatally hit by train in Fairborn identified

A man who died after he was hit by a train in Fairborn earlier this week has been identified.

Fairborn police identified the man as 66-year-old David Sparks.

The train strike was reported around 1:50 p.m. Sunday just south of Spangler Road. There were no signs of foul play, according to police.

“The preliminary investigation did not reveal any suspicious activity and (it) is being ruled an accidental death,” said Sgt. Nathan Penrod.

The Greene County Coroner’s Office responded to remove the body for an autopsy.
