A 16-year-old girl was taken into custody after she reportedly crashed into two other vehicles while speeding Thursday evening in Huber Heights.

The teen and a passenger in the vehicle were both taken to the hospital. The 16-year-old was treated and released before being transported to the Juvenile Detention Center, according to Huber Heights police.

The passenger was alert and conscious, but additional details about their condition were not available.

Around 7:05 p.m. Thursday a Huber Heights officer attempted to stop a Jeep Grand Cherokee for speeding, police said.

As the officer was trying to catch up to the Jeep, the vehicle went left of center and hit two vehicles at the intersection of Old Troy Pike and Taylorsville Road.

The Jeep continued north before hitting a utility pole, breaking the pole at the base.
