Searchers look for missing 7-year-old at Eastwood MetroPark in Dayton

A search for a missing 7-year-old boy at Eastwood MetroPark continued Sunday after he went missing Saturday evening.

A Dayton police spokesperson said authorities are looking for 7-year-old Lucas Rosales.

The boy was fishing with his family near the Harshman Road area near Eastwood MetroPark but has gone missing, said James Rider, a Dayton police spokesman.

A call was made to 911 at 6:40 p.m. Saturday. The boy was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and white pants, a dispatcher said.

The boy is 3 feet tall, 60 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes, police said. Lucas was last seen wearing a white shirt with black sleeves and black pants with black converse gym shoes

Eastwood MetroPark is located at 1385 Harshman Road.

“Law enforcement ask that the public refrain from entering the park, which may impede ongoing search and rescue efforts,” the park system said in a social media post.

More than 100 people from the Dayton police and fire departments, Five Rivers MetroParks, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and other volunteer search groups with specialized equipment spent Sunday looking for the boy, a police spokesperson said.
