After a night of thunderstorms rolling through the region, the National Weather Service in Wilmington is predicting more rain and storms during the day today.

Storms and showers are likely before dawn this morning, though after the sun comes up there will still be a 40 percent chance of rain and storms. These chances will rise somewhat in the afternoon, making storms likely at around 5 p.m.

During the day, outside of rain showers it will be hot and mostly cloudy, with highs reaching near 85 degrees.

Tonight, we will continue to see a strong chance of thunderstorms and rain, lingering into Thursday morning. Temperatures overnight will fall to around 70 degrees.

On Thursday, we will continue to see the same rain chances, the NWS said, which will rise again in the afternoon, making storms likely around 4-5 p.m. before falling into the night. We will be left with a slight chance of showers for the night that won’t quite go away.

During the day on Thursday skies will be partly sunny, with temperatures reaching up to 89 degrees during the day and falling to around 69 degrees overnight.

On Friday, the chances of rain and storms will still be there but less so compared to the previous two days, according to the NWS. Skies will be mostly sunny, with temperatures rising to around 89 degrees.

In the evening, the rain chances will dwindle, becoming very low after the sun goes down for a quiet Friday night. There will still be some clouds in the sky, and temperatures will fall to around 68 degrees.
