An 18-year-old from Springfield pleaded guilty in connection to the deadly shooting of a Dayton man who was found near a Trotwood apartment complex two years ago.

Destiney Massie was convicted of one count each of involuntary manslaughter and aggravated robbery, according to Montgomery County Common Pleas Court records. Four counts of murder, two counts of felonious assault and an additional count of aggravated robbery were dismissed.

Massie is scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 9.

On Aug. 21, 2022, Trotwood officers investigating a suspicious unoccupied vehicle at Shiloh Court Apartments off Shiloh Springs Road found blood around and inside the vehicle, according to police.

When they searched the area, they found the body of 20-year-old Elijah Stollings.

Montgomery County Coroner Dr. Kent Harshbarger determined Stollings died from a gunshot wound to the head.

Massie was not the shooter, according to the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office. However, she was indicted in Stollings’ death because she was reportedly complicit in a robbery and shooting that resulted in his death.

Massie was a juvenile at the time of the shooting and her case was bound over from juvenile court to Montgomery County Common Pleas Court.
