The March For Our Lives movement was founded by Parkland student survivors following a mass shooting at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in 2018, according to a press release from The Dayton Women’s Rights Alliance and District 10 Indivisible for All.

The protests are happening following the mass shootings at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas on May 24 and in a grocery store in Buffalo on May 14.
“After countless mass shootings and instances of gun violence in our communities, it’s time to once again march for our lives,” according to a statement from the groups organizing the event.
People are rallying and marching in support of gun reform throughout hundreds of cities today including Washington D.C, the release said.
