Data shows that Black boys scored lowest on all measures of readiness throughout not only the early years of their education but the trends continued through 8th grade and high school graduation.
The film’s creators, Never Whisper Justice, worked with Preschool Promise on the film.
Nearly 1,000 attendees have seen the film locally as part of these showings, Preschool Promise said in a press release.
“At Preschool Promise we want to create early learning environments where every single child is ready for Kindergarten,” said Robyn Lightcap, executive director at Preschool Promise. “This movie gives us insight into what we can all do to make sure our Black boys are celebrated, valued, and thriving in their earliest years.”
