A 26-year-old Trotwood woman suffered critical injuries Tuesday morning when she was hit by a pickup truck while crossing the street.

Crews were called about 10:50 a.m. on a report of a pedestrian struck on Needmore Road near the intersection of Northcrest Drive, according to a Dayton Police Department traffic crash report.

The woman was on the north side of Needmore Road, and not in a crosswalk, when she started to walk south across the road in front of a stopped RTA bus.

That’s when she was hit by a 2003 taupe Chevrolet Avalanche driven by a 65-year-old Trotwood man, the report stated.

The victim was taken to Grandview Medical Center suffering from critical injuries.
