The Troy Fire Department is continuing to investigate.
Firefighters responded to the first block of Westbrook Lane Wednesday after a caller reported a fire with a resident still inside the house.
One of the first police officers on the scene pulled the woman, later identified as Schwytzer, out of the house within minutes of the call, according to the fire department.
She was taken to Upper Valley Medical Center before CareFlight transported her to Miami Valley Hospital.
The cause of the fire has not been determined; however, investigators have ruled out any obvious electrical or natural causes.
Fire investigators found smoking materials and medical oxygen equipment in the house.
“One of the leading causes of fire-related deaths in Ohio and across the country is smoking,” the fire department said. “The Troy Fire Department wants to remind all our residents of the risks associated with smoking and we ask residents to remember that smoking around home oxygen is especially dangerous.”
Piqua, Covington and Elizabeth Twp. fire departments provided mutual aid.
