2 dead, 1 injured in Darke County head-on crash

Two people were killed early Sunday in a two-vehicle head-on crash in Darke County.

Charles Spencer, 67, and Audrey Spencer, 65, of Arcanum were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash that happened around 12:40 a.m. in the 3400 block of U.S. 127 in Neave Twp., according to a release from the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.

Charles Spencer was headed north on U.S. 127 in a 2001 Chevrolet Monte Carlo when he went left of center and struck a 2018 Chevy truck driven by Douglas Morris, 53, of Arcanum.

Morris was taken to Wayne Health with minor injuries, deputies said.

The crash remains under investigation.
