Moraine police are now investigating a double shooting earlier this week as a homicide after one of men died.

Police would not release the identity of the man who died, nor the identity of the other man shot during the incident, citing the sensitivity of the investigation.

The shooting was reported around 10:45 p.m. Monday near Orange Avenue and Pensacola Boulevard, about a block northeast of the former Frisch’s restaurant at Ohio 741 and South Dixie Drive.

Multiple people called 911 reporting gunfire in the area.

Moraine, Kettering and Miami Twp. officers responded and found two men with multiple gunshot wounds in the road.

Both were taken to the hospital. The second victim was in serious condition as of Tuesday, police said.

Moraine police are asking anyone with information to call 937-535-1166. Investigators also ask any residents or business owners in the area who have surveillance systems to submit footage.

Police are looking for footage from 10:30 to 11 p.m. Monday on Orange Avenue, Pensacola Boulevard, Lauderdale Drive, Lehigh Place, Winwood Avenue, the 4600 to 4100 block of South Dixie Drive and the 4600 to 4100 block of Kettering Boulevard.
