Two people on motorcycle killed in Springfield 3-vehicle crash ID’d

A man and woman riding a motorcycle who died following a three-vehicle crash on Memorial Day in Springfield have been identified by coroners in Clark and Montgomery counties.

Paul Harwood, 46, of Springfield was operating the motorcycle and was flown by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital, where he died His passenger, Jennifer L. Wright, 43, also from Springfield, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Around 9:15 p.m. on Memorial Day, the driver of a Hyundai pulled out of the Wendy’s parking lot at 2411 E. Main St. and into the path of a Jeep Grand Cherokee heading east, according to Springfield police.

The Cherokee hit the Hyundai, causing the Hyundai to spin across the westbound lanes.

Then, a Suzuki motorcycle hit the Hyundai, ejecting Hardwood and Wright, according to Springfield police.

Multiple minor injuries also were reported in the three-vehicle crash, which remains under investigation.
