“A car was speeding and lost control and went down in a ditch,” she said.
The car, a 2007 Cadillac CTS, was heading west when it changed lanes and struck the raised median in the road, according to the crash report. The driver, an 18-year-old from Dayton, then lost control and drove off the right side of the road, hitting the guardrail and going down the embankment before the car stopped on its top.
The caller initially said she thought the car went into the river, but a person who was able to get out of the car said it did not go into the water.
“They’re over the railing and down in the ditch for sure,” she said to dispatchers. “I can’t see anything from the car.”
The driver and three passengers suffered possible serious injuries and were taken to Miami Valley Hospital and Grandview Medical Center, according to the crash report. A fourth passenger had suspected minor injuries and was taken to Dayton Children’s Hospital.
