Ace Hardware stays open after crash

A woman escaped injury when she accidentally hit the gas instead of the brakes today in New Carlisle.

The vehicle struck the side of Ace Hardware, 3300 S. Dayton-Lakeview Road, which caused some shelves to come crashing down inside the store.

There were no injuries reported.

Ace was able to stay open, but two aisles are temporarily blocked while repairs are made.

The store’s manager said the driver either mistakenly hit the wrong pedal or her foot slipped.
