Hahn said her staff searched airline websites and only found the the complaint information after multiple clicks in unlikely places.
American Airlines’ and Delta’s complaint info was located under the “Air Carrier Access Act” section, and Frontier’s list was under “boarding and disembarking.”
“That’s not fair, that’s not right,” said Holis Carr, a frequent flyer who was on her way to Florida from Dayton.
Even when you find the online list, “those complaint numbers are garbage,” said aviation expert Jay Ratliff, because passengers are complaining to the wrong place.
“The problem is, they went to the airline. They didn’t complain to the Department of Transportation,” Ratliff said.
Ratliff said filing any a grievance directly to www.dot.gov will get you a faster resolution and will ensure that your complaint is counted.
