A plan for Miamisburg to annex 41 acres of land in Miami Twp. for new houses near Austin Landing is expected to be considered by the city next month.

The annexation plan for four parcels north of Medlar Road and east of Miamisburg Springboro Road has been approved by Montgomery County commissioners after the township and the city passed an annexation agreement last year.

City officials have said Inverness Homes wants to build more than 100 homes on land that abuts Pipestone Golf Course. The land is northwest of the Interstate 75/Austin Boulevard interchange, home of Austin Landing.

The county voted on the annexation in December and the law requires the city wait 60 days before addressing the issue, Miamisburg Development Director Chris Fine said.

The issue is set to go to Miamisburg City Council Feb. 19, Fine said.

The agreement approved last year by the city and the township calls for the township to get 50 percent of the property taxes from those four parcels for 15 years, according to township records.

The collection of those taxes would start “upon completion of more than 50 percent of the planned development,” township records show.
