The $11.2-million Adele Center is under construction in UD’s south student neighborhood and is scheduled to open for classes next fall. The four-story building will include 96 living spaces and a ground-floor multipurpose area for student services and meetings, according to UD.
Each apartment will have two bedrooms, brand-new appliances, including washers and dryers, solid surface counter tops and ceramic tile, according to UD. The structure will be similar in design to the Caldwell Street apartments, according to UD.

UD announced back in March 2016 that it planned to build the new student apartments. Although the project was approved last year, construction was deferred as a fiscal control measure.
The new apartments replace the McGinnis Center, a former Dayton Public Schools building purchased by UD in 1984.
