Arrest Made In Bathroom Rape Case In Dayton

Police in Dayton said they have arrested a man who is accused of raping a woman inside a bathroom at Courthouse Square on Wednesday.

Officers took a suspect into custody on Friday morning. Investigators said 41-year-old Kevin Leon Kelly has been charged with one count of rape.

Officers said the prosecutor's office has already approved the charge. According to Dayton police, Kelly forced a woman into the bathroom.

Investigators said Kelly knows the victim. They said they had been talking out on the Square when Kelly allegedly forced her down into the bathroom and attacked her.

Police said the victim is 18 years old. Investigators said the attack was stopped when someone walked in on them, allowing Kelly to get away.

The woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment but officers said the woman was very helpful in the investigation.

Officers said the attack was a random incident and was not a stranger attack.
