Syx has done eight caskets, including his father’s, John W. Syx. He’s also done several urns.
The frog represents his father, the butterfly his mother, and the little butterflies his brothers and sisters.
His mother, who was born in Springfield, lived in Fairborn and died Oct. 4 with her son at her side. Her funeral service was Friday.
