Police said Peck was last seen with her son, but he said he had nothing to do with her death.
Police in Dayton still have not filed any charges against anyone in this case. However, they said they have not ruled out Peck’s son or anyone else as a suspect.
Clayton police said Jeff Young was the last person to see his mother alive. Young said the night before she went missing, they went to a grocery store and then through a Wendy’s drive-through.
He told police that his mother then dropped him off at his Huber Heights apartment.
Young said, “I figured she just went home. I didn’t think anything was even wrong.”
Police said one of Peck’s clients from the Grand Central Salon on North Dixie Drive spotted her vehicle parked at the Dayton Airport Inn and called police.
Officers found Peck’s body inside the parked SUV.
Young said, “It’s just not right that someone out there is responsible for something that they’ve done that caused other people’s frowns and mourning.”
Young said he has his own theories about who killed his mother. Dayton police are now handing the investigation. They someone close to the victim is still considered a suspect.
However, Young said he was not involved in his mother’s death.
Peck’s son said he is now focused on his mother’s funeral arrangements.
