An investigation by the Ohio Inspector General and Bowling Green State University Police found that a BGSU professor disseminated “erotic literature” from university equipment.

Alan Atalah, associate dean in the BGSU college of technology, provided a USB drive with research on it to the Ohio Department of Transportation, according to a release from the inspector general. Along with the research, the USB drive also contained a document titled “Conversations.doc” which featured “a text narrative of sex acts with children,” according to the investigation report.

Further inspection of Atalah’s computer revealed more sexually explicit content, according to the OIG. Using state equipment to access and disseminate such material is against BGSU policy.

The investigation’s findings were reviewed by the United States Attorney’s office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation and were forwarded to the Wood County Prosecutor’s Office, according to the release.
